Bad weather will result in a re-booking; your trip will be moved to the next convenient available date.

If at the end of your trip there are no fish in the boat – the next trip is FREE! I guarantee it.

Hunt

Dove

We manage and hunt ONLY productive hunting areas. Our central zone dove hunting is located just west of Houston, in the Katy, Waller, and Hockley areas. The close proximity to Houston makes this convenient to get a morning hunt in before work, or leave the office early for an afternoon hunt. You will have the opportunity to hunt Mourning doves and some White-Winged doves. We hunt in corn, milo, goat weed, and fallow ground. Dove Hunts $75.00

Duck

Rocking L Outfitters provides exceptional wing shooting for numerous species of ducks. Our seasoned professional guides will provide the knowledge and skills to fill your bag limit and make your trip exciting. Hunts take place on prime duck ponds, reservoirs, and marshland, in the Katy, Brookshire, Sealy, Eagle Lake, and coastal areas. We hunt form pit blinds sunk in the ground, traditional duck blinds above ground, and coffin type layout blinds as well as using natural cover on the ground. Upon meeting your guide in the morning, he will discuss the plans for the day's hunt. Your party will follow the guide to the location, and assist in putting the decoys out. Our decoy spreads vary in numbers and style depending on location and weather conditions. Upon completion of a successful hunt or before noon, we will pick up decoys and all trash. The species of ducks you can expect are Pintails, Wigeon, Gadwall, Mallard, Mottled duck, Green-winged Teal, Blue-winged Teal, Shoveler, Redhead, Wood duck, Fulvous tree duck, Black-bellied tree duck, Canvasback, and Scaup.

Goose

Rocking L Outfitters offers the best Goose hunting in Texas. Our fields are scouted everyday, so we can put all of our customers in the very best location for their hunt. The Rocking L guides are some of the best in the business. We make our living in the goose fields of Texas. Born and raised to goose hunt. On a morning hunt your guide will greet you at one of our meeting spots or at the lodge for breakfast. At this time the guide will discuss his plans for the hunt with your party. You will follow the guide to your hunt location, and then assist him with putting the decoys out (See below for Executive hunt option). We use a variety of decoys, which include, rags, Texas windsocks, shells, and kites. When Goose hunting you will be shooting from a laying position. We will dig shallow pits to lay in or use layout blinds whenever possible. At the conclusion of the hunt, which is before noon, you will assist in picking up all decoys and trash. The types of fields hunted are, fallow, plowed, corn, soybeans, rice, winter wheat, and rye grass. The field conditions can vary from extremely dry to extremely wet. You will be hunting in the Katy, Brookshire, Sealy, Eagle Lake and coastal areas where there is an abundance of Snows, Blues, Ross, Specklebelly, and Canada geese. There are plenty of Ducks and Sandhill Cranes as well.

Goose Hunt $120.00 (private party is 4 or more paid hunters)

Teal

Rocking L Outfitters provides quality guided early season Teal hunts in mid-September. We hunt in the Katy, Eagle Lake, Garwood, and Port Lavaca areas. Teal hunts provide plenty of action for a mornings hunt. Teal hunts are fast, and usually filled with non-stop action. Blue-winged Teal is the most common during the hunt, with a few Green-winged Teal mixed in the bag. Teal hunts are in the morning over duck ponds, reservoirs, flooded rice fields, and marsh ponds.

Upland

Rocking L Outfitters offers quality upland game hunting for pen raised Quail, Pheasant, and Chucker partridge. We conduct these hunts just west of Houston in the Waller area. Many clients choose to enjoy an afternoon hunt after a morning of goose or duck hunting. We use quality trained pointers and/ or pointing/ flushing labs. Your professional guide will make this an enjoyable hunt for all. This is a great way for a family to spend some time in the field watching good dogs work the field for the birds, while spending some time with the ones you love the best.

Upland Hunts $160.00 (minimum 2 hunters)

A variety of hunting options are available to choose from this season. Your Choice:

  • 3 Pheasants and 4 Chukars released*
  • Quail 14 released
  • Pheasant 6 released
  • Chukars 8 relased
*this is the standard upland hunt.

**All upland hunts we provide guide, professionally trained dog, soft drinks, and skeet shooting to warm up with**

Hunts last from 2 to 4 hours.

On a shooting preserve "no limits" apply. Actual kill may be more or less.

Regulations

  1. Texas residents require a valid Texas hunting license.
  2. Out of state hunters are required to have a special Banded Bird License.
  3. All hunters need an Upland Bird Stamp.

Safety Requirements

  • Wear gun safety approved shooting glasses
  • Fluorescent orange cap or vest vs. camouflage
  • Inform us of inexperienced hunters.
  • Young hunters must have shooting experience and taken a hunters safety course.
  • Please make reservation 3-5 days prior to your hunt.
  • 50% (non-refundable) deposit is required with your reservation.
